JC Hurtado-Prater

JC Hurtado-Prater is the Founding Principal of BlueStone Leadership Consulting, LLC and serves as an Assistant Dean and Associate Professor of Leadership at the Fermanian School of Business at Point Loma Nazarene University. With over 20 years of experience in the government, non-profit, educational and management consulting sectors, JC is passionate about helping leaders, teams and organizations thrive and reach their highest potential.

 

A veteran of the United States Army, JC earned a BA from UCLA, MBA through Saint Joseph’s College and is currently completing his doctorate in business administration through Indiana Wesleyan University. JC is a Senior Leadership Consultant with Zoe Training & Consulting, a Denver-based consulting firm specializing in Fortune 500 organizations and governmental agencies, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. In addition, JC has taught management and leadership courses at Azusa Pacific University where his primary emphasis has been helping present and future business leaders understand the larger concepts surrounding change management, communication, team building, coaching and leadership development. Passionate about community service in San Diego, JC serves on several local boards for organizations such as UC San Diego, South Bay Community Services, Thrivent Financial Southwest Region and Southwestern College Foundation. 

 

JC’s core life, teaching and leadership philosophy is based on the work of Abraham Maslow: “What you can be you must be.” As a professor and consultant, JC's primary goal is to help current and future marketplace leaders empower human flourishing for the betterment of mankind and society.
